Planted Earth Studios is a new Edmonton-based art studio formed in the summer of 2024. We create pottery, sculptures and floral arrangements all using sustainable and earth-friendly materials.

Through this passion, we also teach workshops and foster a space where people can learn, grow, and find community together.

We believe the arts have the power to uplift, inspire, and foster a sense of belonging.

Land Acknowledgement

At Planted Earth Studios, we acknowledge that we are located on the traditional territories of Treaty 6, the ancestral and unceded lands of the Cree, Anishinaabe, Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), Métis, Dene, and Nakota Sioux peoples.

This land, amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton), has been a gathering place and a significant travel route for Indigenous peoples for millennia. We recognize the deep history and cultural significance of this place and the ongoing importance of Indigenous knowledge and perspectives.

We are committed to fostering a respectful and inclusive environment that honors the history and culture of the Indigenous peoples whose land we occupy.

We strive to:

  • Acknowledge the historical and ongoing impacts of colonization on Indigenous peoples.

  • Support reconciliation efforts through our actions and programming.

  • Integrate Indigenous perspectives and knowledge into our studio practices.

  • Create a space that is welcoming and inclusive to all members of the community.

Our commitment to reconciliation is an ongoing journey. We strive to learn and grow, and we welcome feedback and suggestions from Indigenous communities and individuals.
