Service Description

Hollis Hunter's 2-Hour Ceramic Trinket Thursdays Workshop! This workshop is perfect for beginners or experienced ceramists! Learn the fundamentals of working with clay and create your own trinket dish and trinkets! What you'll learn: * Hand-building techniques like slab building, pinching, coiling and slump-mold techniques. * Decorating your pieces with colorful slips Trinkets: Participants can make some small “trinkets” that are separate from their dish, such as beads, ceramic jewelry, figurines, ornaments, etc. They can also attach these to their dish to make a handle, lid / cover, ring holder, brush holder, herb stripper, etc. What's included: * All clay and tools * Glazes * Firing fees After the workshop, your pieces will need to dry slowly for a few days. It will then be fired in a bisque fire (Cone 04, 1945°F) and dipped in a clear, food-safe glaze. Finally, it will be fired again at cone 4 (2145°F). Your finished piece will be ready for pickup in approximately 2-3 weeks. About Hollis Hunter: Hollis (he/him) is a passionate multi-media Visual Artist. He joined the Planted Earth Studios team to cultivate hand-building and sculptural techniques in the local ceramic scene. Hollis has worked with Painting and Sculpture disciplines for a decade, and often pairs art-making with social, cultural, and community-based initiatives. He received a Bachelor of Fine Art at the University of Alberta, and presently shares his artistic practice through Set Apart Fine Art.

Cancellations made with less than 10 days' notice are non-refundable. However, we may be able to reschedule you for another class or workshop, subject to availability.
